Introduction

Nilai University was established in 1998 as Nilai College - and was upgraded to a university college in 2007 and a full-fledged university in 2012 by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The University is committed to providing students with quality education leading to the total student experience that will enrich them for life – as per the University’s motto – Enrichment for life.

Nilai University operates from a full-fledged university campus with various amenities and facilities to enable students to have the total student experience. Teaching facilities such as lecture halls, labs, workshops and an aircraft hangar are within walking distance to the on-campus accommodation buildings as well as sporting facilities that include fields, courts and the Sports Focus Centre for Fencing.

Nilai University is located in the lush, peaceful suburb of Putra Nilai, just a 15-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 35 minutes from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Its 105-acre campus is located in a lush valley nearby its sister companies; Nilai International School, Nilai Springs Golf and Country Resort and the Nilai Springs Resort Hotel.

The University currently offers 2 Foundation, 16 Diploma and 1 Advanced Diploma, 19 Degree, 6 Master’s and 3 PhD programmes.

To give students a solid foundation in the core fields, Nilai University’s programmes are designed with input from advisory panels comprising of industry partners and academic experts. The curriculum is constantly upgraded with regular input from industry partners to ensure that our graduates are equipped with the latest requirements for the workforce.

All diploma and degree programmes include an internship or on-the-job-training module that allows students to gain hands-on experience during their studies. This gives them a comparative advantage to graduates from other institutions.

Embedded into the programmes are opportunities for students to earn added certifications from various professional bodies and organisations. Nilai University has also designed programmes with professional examinations in mind including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) licensing examinations.

With Nilai University’s motto - Enrichment for Life – a number of electives have been introduced to help broaden student perspectives. These include the renowned Outward Bound leadership training, Personal Branding by Chapter One Asia and even a module on Theatre and Acting. Students are also given an opportunity to learn through activities via the co-curriculum module with the aim of developing students, both personally and professionally.

Nilai University is committed to ensure that each and every student enrolled into the various programmes offered to go through a total student experience enriching their mental, physical and academic strengths so that they graduate to be an all-rounded, work-ready graduate.
