Introduction

Multimedia University (MMU) was established in July 1996. Originally known as Universiti Telekom with a single campus in Melaka, the university’s current name took hold in March 1997, when TM Berhad, its parent corporation, was given the enormous task of establishing a new campus in Cyberjaya that would supply the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) with superior quality knowledge workers. Since then, MMU has produced 60,490 graduates and currently has more than 15,000 students across its three campuses in Melaka, Cyberjaya and Johor with more than 1,500 international students from 70 countries.

Merit scholarship

Benefit

Merit scholarship recipients are eligible to continue to receive a scholarship throughout the remaining duration of their studies in Multimedia University subject to excellent academic performance depending on the scholarship percentage that they were given.

Requirement

• Entitled for new students who are successfully received offer letter from Admission.
• This scholarship will be offered to eligible candidate upon enrolment to MMU.
• Have not received any scholarship from any other agency/ organisation except PTPTN loan.
• The scholarship is open for all programmes except Law.
• Scholarship recipients must maintain GPA of 3.33 throughout their duration of study (Bachelor’s degree).
• The duration of scholarship will end upon completion of the study period specified by MMU.
• The scholarship only covers the tuition fees.

PTPTN Laon

Benefit

Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) is the Malaysian government body offering national educational loan for Malaysian students enrolling for Foundation, Diploma and Degree programmes. Amount of the loan is subject to PTPTN’s approval

Requirement

• Malaysian citizens only
• Not exceeding 45 years of age on date of application
• Been offered a place at any IPTA/IPTS or Polytechnic by fulfilling entry requirements determined by Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
• For IPTA/IPTA and Polytechnic students, the applicable courses must obtain the approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and registered with PTPTN
• For IPTS students, the applicable courses must obtain the Accreditation Certificate from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and still be valid on the date of application
• The remaining period of study upon application should not be less than (1) one year
• Have no other sponsor
• Possess an SSPN-i account
