Jit Sin Independent High School
Jit Sin School was founded on 2 March 1918. It was restructured from a free school run by the Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple. The school name "Jit Sin" was originated from a Chinese literature that refers that if one can improve oneself in a day, do so each day, and be constant on improving day by day. On 10 October 1949, the three schools -- Jit Sin, Chung Chin and Xin You merged into one, and this day marks the school anniversary.
In 1950, Jit Sin Secondary School was officially established. In 1962, Jit Sin Secondary School accepted the government's full-subsidy restructuring and was divided into two, namely, Jit Sin Independent High School and SMJK Jit Sin, and the school administration was also officially separated.
As the largest independent high school in Northern Malaysia, Jit Sin Independent High School has always adhered to the educational philosophy of inheriting and promoting Chinese culture, paying equal attention to the six educations of "moral, intellectual, physique, social, aesthetic and labor". At the same time, it is in line with the globalization of education, to build an educational environment where teachers enjoy teaching and students enjoy learning. We strive to ensure that every child who graduates from Jit Sin Independent High School can not only acquire knowledge, but also learn how to behave and deal with things in order to face the world and the future.
