The Centre for Basic Forestry and Proteomics Research (hereinafter referred to as: Centre for Forestry) is one of the five major centres of the Straits Joint Research Institute of Fujian Agriculture
and Forestry University and one of the major achievements of the first phase of the high-level university construction of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.
The Centre has formed eight research teams: plant light signalling and chronobiology, plant growth and development, forest bioinformatics, plant nutrient and adversity signalling, forest genetic
transformation, forest proteomics, research on active metabolites in forest cash crops, and intelligent integrated forestry pest control technologies.
The Forestry Centre is equipped with high level experimental conditions in line with international standards, including three open platforms for proteomics, bamboo genetic transformation, and
bioinformatics.
The Centre has established international joint laboratories with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of British Columbia (UBC), and encourages and funds postgraduate
students to study abroad before and after graduation.
