The Game Design major was opened in 2004, and is the first higher education institution in the province to offer Game Design, and is the most important centre for training and exporting game design

professionals in Suzhou and even in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The courses in the Department of Game Design focus on the systematic study of game art level, mainly involving game project planning, scriptwriting, concept, original painting, interface, 3D modelling

, special effects, post-production optimisation and other job requirements. We have two sub-disciplines, Game Design and Game Production, based on the different job profiles. We adopt a studio-based

project-based approach to teaching, integrating different areas of teaching content through virtual and real projects.

Year 1: Introduction to Game Art, Fundamentals of Modeling, Fundamentals of Color, Fundamentals of Graphic Design
Year 2: Game Planning and Screenwriting, Appreciation of Classic Game Character Styling, Original Game Character Concept Design, Appreciation of Classic Scene Architecture, Game Scene Concept and Level Design, Game UI Design, Game 3D Model Making, 3D Material Performance, Game Special Effects Design, ZBRUSH Digital Sculpture
Year 3: Game project design practice, graduation design and industry internship
